Help fresh graduates get employment

LETTERS: Amid the Covid-19 crisis, our life isn't getting any easier due to many unprecedented occurrences which we couldn't foresee. Some lives were ruined due to the financial downturn and many lost direction on how their life would end up.

The financial downturn impelled them to take unconscionable steps to avert a greater challenge such as divorce, taking excessive loans, selling their assets and many more.

In March last year, the government allocated RM305 billion to help the lives of many people. Though it is hoped to be of help, the question is how long it will last before those who had been retrenched can get another job?

According to reports, the MOF's 2021 Malaysian unemployment rate amounted to 3.5 per cent.

Some would argue that the money could be used to initiate small businesses, but not all people are competent in business. Mere knowledge on business does mean one will be a success.

Many companies are still fighting to turn their business around so the number of unemployed is still big and some say increasing.

Perhaps, the government can provide new projects in order to stabilise the economy and insist that companies recruit more people for work, especially fresh graduates.
