Due to soaring numbers, complete lockdown is inevitable

LETTER: The Health Ministry and National Security Council have made numerous calls to the rakyat to strictly follow the SOP, implemented in our ongoing effort to break the chain of infection.

And yet we seem to have taken a very lackadaisical (tidak apa) attitude, thinking we're immune or that it's just a slight cough and headache.

If we have not responded to the calls and advice by the authorities then we must be held responsible and punished. We're almost at 7,000 new cases and more clusters are being uncovered. When will this end?

A complete lockdown - and curfew from 10pm to 6am - should be in place by the NSC. We will suffer for a while but are we willing to sacrifice in order to prevent more deaths?

The frontliners are overwhelmed, beds are in shortage and the economy will end up in ruins if we continue this way. We deserve whatever the government throws at us now.

There should be no appeals or complaints by any party or organisation. If the government does not act now, we will lose everything.
