Kids' health records in app a boon for mums

WHEN I cared for my first child during her first year, I did it mostly alone as my husband worked in another state.

I endured emotional and physical fatigue in my first year as a mother.

The handling of my child's immunisation records added to the challenges. With my second child, I managed healthcare more calmly, as the fear of losing documents had diminished.

I hardly noticed the stress of having paper records until I had my second child in March this year.

Fortunately, when my second child was born, the government had rolled out electronic immunisation records via the MySejahtera app.

I now use a secure government-initiated app for my dependents' health records, making the second immunisation journey smoother.

My child's health records were at hand, and there was barely any paperwork.

This technological advancement contributed to my wellbeing as I spent less time organising physical documents and had more time for rest and other tasks.

I have also observed the change in attitudes of healthcare providers, who now have less paperwork as well.

Medical staff seem more relaxed as they can quickly retrieve my son's immunisation history during medical visits.

On top of that, I can schedule immunisation appointments via MySejahtera.

Having accurate and accessible immunisation data and fewer steps to schedule appointments gives me confidence as a parent and allows me to spend my time more effectively.
