Tips for homes at T-junction

HOUSE buyers are usually leery of buying a property where two streets come together and one is pointed directly at the home.

There is a popular belief among Feng Shui practitioners that if you have a house facing a T-junction, you are always “at a crossroads” in your life.

They also believe that these houses are highly likely to draw spiritual beings.

In classic Feng Shui, a T-junction location is called “Tiger Eyes”. This is because the headlights of an oncoming car shine into the house from the windows or doors, resembling two eyes.

It is also called a “poison arrow” because it can make occupants feel uneasy as they are in the middle of a street. They feel as though all the rushing energy is directed towards them.

There are some solutions to this. Firstly, you can plant hedges or build a fence to create a barrier between you and the street, which will serve to cushion the effects of the rushing energy.

According to Feng Shui expert Rodika Tchi, who writes for home lifestyle blog The Spruce, another method to protect the front door and windows from the rushing energy is to place crystals on the windowsills that are adjacent to the road.

She also recommends those living in a T-Junction house to install a bagua mirror outside the house to remedy the negative effect and ward off spiritual beings.

Having good lighting at the front of the house will also help diffuse the glare from headlights coming down the road.
