Mirror, mirror on the wall...

FENG Shui experts say mirrors are an incredibly important tool in geomancy.

Mirrors are helpful because they reflect energy in the form of light.

The experts say the placement of mirrors using Feng Shui methodology can remedy almost any problem; well at least most of them!

On the other hand, a wrongly placed mirror can bring bad luck and this could affect the quality of life as you may have sleepless nights.

One of the most important places in your home where you normally keep a mirror is your bedroom. One of the benefits of having a mirror in your bedroom is to multiply positive energy that enters the room in the form of sunlight.

However, some people believe that mirrors should be avoided in the bedroom. It is believed that mirrors emit negative energies if placed in the bedroom and can disturb a healthy marital relationship.

If you still insist on having a mirror in your bedroom, then it should not reflect your bed as it will have a negative impact on your relationship.

Avoid placing the mirror at the corner of the bed as it can affect your health and your sleep. If you insist that it should be there, then use a cloth to cover it when you go to bed.

If possible, place the mirror at the back of the wardrobe door. It is quite likely the mirror would not reflect anything.

According to an article in MailOnline by Bianca London, there is a crucial decorating mistake that many people make when it comes to designing their bedroom, which could wreak havoc on their sleep patterns.

Quoting Feng Shui consultant Amanda Gibby Peters of Simple Shui, she says having a mirror on the bedroom wall can affect your ability to sleep soundly.

She says according to the principles of Feng Shui, mirrors can disrupt sleep because they increase energy.

Peters recommends testing the theory out by covering your bedroom mirrors with paper or a sheet for a few weeks to see if it makes a difference.

“If you do sleep soundly with them covered, consider replacing them with something else you love — a large print, a mural, or even a few mounted lanterns.”

For men and women who can’t bear to part with their bedroom mirror, she suggests hanging it on a wall that doesn’t face the bed.

So, enjoy your mirror in the right location!
