The MyRumah Property Showcase 2018 at Mahkota Parade, Melaka which started Friday will offer property projects with total gross development value of over RM1 billion.

Organised by The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad (NSTP), the participating developers are Bukit Pelali Sdn Bhd, Handal Group, SPNB Aspirasi Sdn Bhd, Setia Awan Group and Teladan Setia Sdn Bhd.

They will offer projects located in the historical city of Melaka in Bukit Serindit, Bertam, Batu Berendam and Bemban, and also in Pengerang, Johor.

The property showcase is the fourth and final series of the NSTP MyRumah event for 2018.

First held in 2016, MyRumah targets prospective homebuyers and property investors.

In 2017, four MyRumah events were held in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Alor Setar (Kedah) and back in Kuala Lumpur.

This year the event started in Shah Alam (Selangor), followed by Sg. Petani (Kedah) and Johor Bahru.

NSTP chief executive officer Datuk Seri Abdul Jalil Hamid said, a total of 91 properties worth almost RM39 million have been sold since through the MyRumah events since early 2017.

He said, 68 units worth RM27 million were sold last year.

For the first three events in 2018, 23 properties valued at RM11.88 million were sold and they had attracted a total of 33,500 visitors.

“In this final series, we will be showcasing five property developers and four non-developers, offering a myriad of medium-cost and highly affordable property projects, starting from RM232,000.

"I hereby would like to urge the public to come and visit MyRumah Melaka, and get more detailed explanations from some of the country’s leading real estate speakers whom we have lined up,” Jalil said.

The property sector in Melaka is expected to continue expanding in line with the state’s overall social and economic developments.

Melaka is recognised as the state with the most affordable housing market, with a starting price of just RM80,000 as compared to RM240,000 and above in other northern states.

Properties in Melaka that sell between RM120,000 and RM250,000 would cost about RM470,000 to RM700,000 if the same kind is developed in other states.

Visitors to MyRumah Melaka will benefit from key information on developments within the property sector from the developers, as well as other enquiries on real estate and housing, shared by eight top industry experts.
