Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV), a division of Sunway Healthcare Group, has started the Well-being Haven project in collaboration with Bosch.
The goal of Well-being Haven is to enhance the working conditions for healthcare professionals by giving them access to a suitable recuperation space furnished with Bosch products and solutions.
Nearly 2,000 medical professionals in Malaysia who participated in a Bosch study indicated a desire for more suitable rest areas.
To meet this demand, Bosch started the project by making the SMCV lounge a welcome, serene area that is favourable for relaxing and recovering.
"It has been six months since Malaysia entered the endemic phase. Be it endemic or pandemic, healthcare workers are undeniably one of the most challenging professions with high time pressure and stress. A good environment that enables these unsung heroes a quality break is therefore invaluable," said Klaus Landhaeusser, managing director of Bosch Malaysia.
The Well-being Haven space, built with Bosch power tools, has an ergonomic kitchenette with a microwave, a built-in coffee maker, and a refrigerator from Bosch's home appliances line.
Derrick Chan, chief executive officer of SMCV, said that thanks to the Well-being Haven, doctors now have a setting that is evocative of a home where they are protected from stress and able to rest and recharge before they start seeing patients or performing surgeries.
