Taaras Beach & Spa Resort in Terengganu's Redang island unveils premium package

REDANG Island, Terengganu: The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort has launched a premium travel package featuring direct flights from Seletar Airport in Singapore to Redang, operated by its affiliate company Berjaya Air, aiming to allure high-net-worth individuals to the island retreat.

The inaugural flight by Berjaya Air from Seletar Airport to Redang Airport took place on Friday (March 22).

Pravir Mishra, the group general manager of Berjaya Hotels & Resorts (BHR), emphasised the significance of Singapore as a key market for the company.

He noted that while the top five contributing countries to their business are Malaysia, Italy, China, Japan, and France, Singapore holds a notable position in the top 10.

With the introduction of this travel package, he aspires to elevate Singapore's standing to the top five, recognising the untapped potential in this market.

"We are the only resort in Malaysia that has a charter plane to bring guests to our property. The premium package includes three days and two nights' accommodation.

"We believe that with this enticing offer, we can attract not only Singaporeans but also travelers from distant regions like Europe, China and India. Redang Island is the Maldives in Malaysia. Our target audience encompasses both corporate clients and families," Pravir said during an interview.

The Taaras is part of the portfolio of 11 premium resorts operated by BHR in Malaysia.

Originally established in 1995 as Berjaya Redang Beach & Spa Resort until its rebranding in 2011, the resort has undergone extensive renovations to enhance its rooms, facilities and services.

Pravir highlighted an ongoing refurbishment initiative aimed at continually improving the resort's rooms, amenities, public areas, and services while maintaining its reputation as a premier global destination.

The Taraas features 94 suites, 24 two-bedroom villas, and six premier twin rooms.

Additionally, the resort offers a spacious villa capable of accommodating 15-20 guests.

Responding to demand, plans are underway to finish building two more of these villas this year, Pravir said.

"People are drawn to Taaras for its idyllic setting amidst the crystal-clear waters of the South China Sea, providing scuba diving enthusiasts access to over 30 captivating dive sites surrounding Redang Island," Pravir explained.

He also highlighted the opportunity for travelers to engage in a turtle discovery snorkeling experience close to the resort.

"The resort is open throughout the year, even during the monsoon season. The weather pattern is changing, and people can still go snorkeling during the monsoon season. At least 60 per cent of our guests are repeats," he said.
