THE national women's badminton squad progressed to the team event final at the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games after defeating Indonesia 3-0 in the semi-finals today.
Soniia Cheah delivered the opening point at the Axiata Arena, downing Fitriani Fitriani in straight games 21-17, 21-17.
Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei had it easy in the the doubles as their opponents Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istarani-Rosyita Eka Putri Sari withdrew due to injury in the first set. Vivian-Khe Wei were leading 7-5 at the time.
Goh Jin Wei then sealed victory for Malaysia with a straightforward 21-16, 21-13 win over Hanna Ramadini.
The national team will play Thailand in the final tomorrow. The latter had beaten Singapore 3-0 in their semi-final.
