Shuttler Jin Wei closes in on world junior title

KUALA LUMPUR: Shuttler Goh Jin Wei is just a step away from becoming world junior champion again.

The Malaysian ousted China’s top seed, Wang Zhiyi 21-9, 21-13 in the World Junior Championships in Markham, Canada, on Saturday.

Jin Wei, who also won the world junior title in 2015, will play 15th seed, Line Christophersen of Denmark in the final tomorrow morning.

Malaysia are also in contention for a second title at the world junior meet as Pearly Tan-Toh Ee Wei have reached the girls’ doubles final.

They defeated Indonesia's Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma-Ribka Sugiarto in the last four this morning.
