No turning back for Zulfadli and Chun Seang

DISGRACED shuttlers Zulfadli Zulkiffli and Tan Chun Seang can both forget about ever returning to badminton.

This is following the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s (CAS) decision to dismiss the appeals by both players, who were banned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) for match-fixing.

On Apr 27 last year, the BWF ethics hearing panel banned Zulfadli, 26, for 20 years and Chun Seang, 33, for 15 years from all badminton activities.

In a statement released by BWF yesterday, it read: “The BWF are satisfied that CAS has come to the same conclusions as to the independent ethics hearing panel in rendering their decision on the appeal.”

In a comprehensive coverage by NSTP Sport last year, it was revealed that Zulfadli, a former world junior champion (2011) and Chun Seang engaged in match-fixing in six different tournaments from 2013 to 2014.
