BAM not interested in Hangzhou Asian Games women's team event

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will not compete in the women's badminton team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games in September.

This was decided by the BAM council today as Malaysia stand little chance in the women's team event.

However, national doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky said the men's team have a good chance of winning the Asiad gold medal.

"If everything goes to plan, we can win the gold," said Rexy.

"The doubles players (Aaron-Wooi Yik and Yew Sin-Ee Yi) are getting stable, Zii Jia is now under Wong Tat Meng."
