Tze Yong beats Penang-born Kean Yew to reach last 16

KUALA LUMPUR: Ng Tze Yong bounced back from the team event disappointment by claiming a stylish win over former world champion Loh Kean Yew to check into the Asian Games men's singles last 16.

The world No. 19 Malaysian ousted his seventh seeded rival from Singapore 21-12, 21-14 at the Binjiang Gymnasium on Tuesday.

It marked Tze Yong's third win in four meetings and also his second on the trot against Penang-born Kean Yew, having beaten the latter during the Japan Open recently.

Tze Yong will next face Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand for a place in the quarter-finals.
