Tze Yong reaches French Open semi-finals

KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 18 Ng Tze Yong has reached the semi-final of the French Open, his third on the World Tour this season, without having to lift his racquet on Friday.

This comes after he was given a walkover in the quarter-finals by reigning world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand, who was forced out of action due to a fever.

With a day's rest, Tze Yong will certainly return fresh for tomorrow's battle as he awaits to play either Indonesian second seed Anthony Ginting or reigning Asian Games gold medallist Li Shi Feng of China.

Tze Yong will be vying for his second World Tour final in three weeks, after having finished runner-up to Lee Zii Jia at the Arctic Open in Finland.

Regardless of the outcome, it will still mark Tze Yong best-ever outing in a Super 750-level or higher tournament.
