KUALA LUMPUR: Former world champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik checked into the men's doubles second round of the Super 750 China Masters on Tuesday.
Aaron-Wooi Yik, who did not do well at the Kumamoto Masters last week, defeated independent compatriots Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi in straight games, 21-15, 21-15.
The Malaysian pair, who won the Denmark Open crown last month, will play China's Tan Qiang-Zhou Hao Dong or newly crowned Kumamoto Masters champion He Ji Ting-Ren Xiang Yu next.
Meanwhile, another Malaysian pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, despite fighting hard, failed to clear the opening round after losing 21-23, 24-22, 21-19 to Japan's Akira Koga-Taichi Saito.
