Aaron-Wooi Yik eye biggest prize in the Year of the Dragon

KUALA LUMPUR: Former world champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik hope the Year of the Dragon will bring them luck as they eye the biggest prize at the Paris Olympics.

"We have big hopes for the Paris Olympics. We are ready to go through everything just to be prepared for the mission," said 27-year-old Aaron.

"We are not young anymore, and we cannot predict what will happen after Paris. We must use this chance well.

"The important thing is to go all out in Paris. Whether we win the Olympic title also depends on luck.

World No 5 Aaron-Wooi Yik are seen as Malaysia's best hope of landing the country's first Olympic title in Paris.

Three years ago in Tokyo, the pair returned with a bronze medal.

Aaron-Wooi Yik created history in 2022 when they won Malaysia's first badminton world title.

Last year, they ended their World Tour title wait by clinching the Denmark Open crown.

Aaron will be celebrating Chinese New Year with his family in Melaka.
