Aaron Tai-Khai Xing lose narrowly in German Juniors final

KUALA LUMPUR: High flying boys' doubles pair, Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing, fell short in their bid to land a second straight European junior title after losing in the final of the German Juniors on Sunday.

One week after winning at the Dutch Juniors, the Malaysian pair lost 22-20, 21-16 to China's Chen Yong Rui-Chen Zhe Han in Berlin.

For the record, Aaron-Khai Xing defeated the China duo in the semi-finals last week.

While winning would have been the perfect icing on the cake for Aaron-Khai Xing, the pair can still hold their heads up high given their fine showing this season.

After winning the Italian and Malaysian Junior titles last year, Aaron-Khai Xing started the year strong by reaching the semi-finals of the Sri Lanka International Challenge last month, followed by a quarter-final finish at the Sri Lanka International Series.

The Dutch and German Juniors are only the Malaysian pair's third and fourth tournament this season.

Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Haikal Nazri were the last Malaysian pair to win the German Juniors, achieved in 2020.
