Guardiola to visit Johor if City emerge champions

KUALA LUMPUR: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is claimed to have said that he will come to Johor if the Citizens win the English Premier League (EPL).

This was made known via a brief statement put up on the official Facebook page of Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), Johor Southern Tigers (JST), earlier today.

The statement also explained that the visit of the former Barcelona manager is to share on football ideas with Johor Darul Ta’zim.

“On October 19, 2016, Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ), Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim had met with Pep Guardiola during the match where Manchester City played Barcelona in Spain.

“Pep Guardiola extended his hand and promised to come to the state of Johor to share ideas and to visit Johor Darul Ta’zim football project if Manchester City triumph and win the Premier League.

“For your information, Manchester City are now top of the Premier League,” said the statement.

This could become a reality following Manchester City’s impressive form as the Citizens lead the Premier League standing by a 15 point margin over their closest rivals after 20 matches so far this season.

If this were to really happen, it will definitely bring about a huge, positive impact for the Malaysia Super League champions who have won four times in a row, in terms of getting ideas and thoughts from one of the world’s top coaches.

In fact, prior to this Johor Darul Ta’zim were reported to have cultivated good links and understanding with a few top European clubs such as German giants Borussia Dortmund and Spanish club Valencia.

Johor Darul Ta’zim are currently busy with pre-season training and preparations for the 2018 Malaysia League (M League) season opener against Kedah in the Charity Shield match on February 3.
