Felda coach Sathianathan unhappy despite win

SELAYANG : Felda United coach B. Sathianathan did not like what he saw from his players in the 2-1 win over Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM FC) in an afternoon Premier League match at Selayang Stadium on Friday.

“Overall, I am not happy with the performance as we are better than this. I congratulate UKM for making it tough for us.

“We created many chances but could only score twice. Probably they were affected by the heat, so I will let it go this time.

“We were lucky to earn three points today,” said Sathinathan.

Felda took the lead in the 36th minute through Iain Ramsay before Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor added a second in the 67th minute.

Waheed Akanni Oseni scored in stoppage time for UKM.

UKM coach Sulaiman Hussin hopes his players will learn from the defeat.

“It is our first-ever Premier League match and I think we did well to pressure Felda. However, we need to learn from this experience to bounce back in the next match,” said Sulaiman.

In another afternoon game, Sarawak opened their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Kuantan FA at State Stadium in Kuching.

Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak was the toast for Sarawak with a goal in the 18th minute.
