Yusoff Mahadi is okay with TMJ's proposal

KUALA LUMPUR: FAM deputy president Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi said today he doesn’t mind Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim proposing FAM general secretary Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin as the new FAM president.

Tunku Ismail, who stepped down as FAM president on Sunday, has stated that Hamidin is the best person to lead the national body

Admitting that he is not ready to lead FAM, Yusoff expressed his support for Hamidin to take over the FAM presidency.

“I fully support it (the proposal by Tunku Ismail). I already have enough work in my present post (FAM deputy president). I am not yet at a level to be the president,” said Yusoff today.

“What’s important is that whoever becomes president, must have a good relationship with Tunku Ismail as he is the Malaysian Football League president.

“Because of this, Tunku Ismail suggested that the person who heads FAM is capable and can work with him.”

Apart from recommending Hamidin for the FAM presidency, Tunku Ismail also proposed that Yusoff be the acting president until the FAM’s 54th congress on July 14.

Yusoff said the FAM exco will meet on Monday to decide the FAM acting president.

“The exco will also decide whether or not to accept Tunku Ismail’s resignation as FAM president.”
