ALOR STAR: The Kedah FA (KFA) have confirmed that former international Nidzam Adzha Yusof has replaced Ramon Marcote as head coach of the state team.
Marcote has been redesignated as KFA's development coach.
KFA executive head Yusdi Madeonus Yunus confirmed Nidzam's new role in a statement on Thursday.
Nidzam was assistant to Marcote.
"After a series of discussions, we decided to make changes in the team's coaching setup.
"Marcote is ideal for the development role as he has background in sports science.
"The Spaniard will be involved in all aspects of development," said Yusdi.
Nidzam had a successful outing as coach when he took over from Tan Cheng Hoe last May.
He guided Kedah to the FA Cup crown and the Malaysia Cup final.
However, he was demoted to assistant coach following the arrival of Marcote early this season.
