Thana ready to help realise Negri Sembilan's mission

SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan’s popular young forward, N. Thanabalan is looking forward to forming a formidable and potent attacking partnership with the team’s new foreign import, Angel Guirado in order to realise their mission of getting a good result against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in their Super League clash at the Larkin Stadium tomorrow night (Wednesday).

Guirado, 33, who hails from Spain is expected to make is debut and is Negri Sembilan’s best bet in breaching JDT’s goal.

Thanabalan said that he and Guirado are getting to know each other well on and off the pitch after two weeks of training, especially after the match against Kedah at their home of Paroi Stadium on May 5.

"I have been given a chance by coach Mario Lemos to form the forwardline with our new foreign import and from training I feel that there is cohesion and a good understanding between us even though Guirado has only been with us for two weeks.

"Guirado always works together and I am comfortable partnering him in attack, and I can tell you that we are ready to do our job of breaking through JDT’s defense and scoring tomorrow night.

"Our main focus is to get a good result away from home. Yes our job won’t be easy as we’ll be up against a top team in JDT whose reputation precedes them,” said Thanabalan here earlier today (Tuesday).

Negri Sembilan are desparate to turn things around after going seven matches without a win and they will need to bounce back if they intend to remain in the top flight.

Thanabalan has scored two goals so far, and he will want to add to his tally as well as help his team improve their fortunes and get out of the danger zone as they lie bottom of the league standings with only five points to show for.

"Whatever it is, we must improve on our showing because teams like JDT have strength in depth and they will exploit and mistakes or shortcomings with devastating effect. I am just hoping that we can at least come away with a point from Larkin Stadium tomorrow night,” stressed Thanabalan.
