AFC to assist FAM in enhancing existing regulations

KUALA LUMPUR: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have agreed to assist the FA of Malaysia (FAM) in further strengthening the national body’s statutes and other legal regulations.

In a statement, FAM secretary general Stuart Ramalingam said: “FAM need to update, refine and reinforce existing statutes, regulations and codes of conduct in order to meet current demands and also to achieve international standards.

“It is one of many things we want to improve on as stated in our road map (F:30).

“We want our statutes, regulations and codes of conduct to be aligned with AFC and Fifa to avoid disputes and conflicts in the future,” said Stuart.

AFC have proposed a meeting with FAM after the ongoing Asian Cup.
