Sabah coach knocked out in collision with player

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah coach Justin Ganai fainted after colliding with a player during a President's Cup team training session today.

Team manager Ebby Roy said the 63-year-old former Sabah player fell unconscious following the incident.

“It happened around 5.30pm today. The team were preparing for tomorrow's game against PJ City here,” said Ebby.

“Justin was drilling his players on how to defend when one of the players accidentally knocked him out cold.

“He collapsed and was unconscious.

“Justin was attended to by our medical personnel before an ambulance came to the training ground. He is now at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.”

Ebby said Justin is in stable condition but has been advised by doctors to undergo further tests.
