KUALA LUMPUR: JDT aim to score RM500,000 for charity when they play Rest of the World XI in an All-Star match on June 30 at Larkin Stadium.

Johor Football Association (JFA) president Datuk Ismail Karim said 18,000 tickets will be up for sale at the Larkin Stadium from today till match day and also online.

Tickets are priced as low as RM20 for Zon A and B, RM30 for Zon C and RM50 for grandstand.

“This charity match is the brainchild of Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ) Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and it is a noble effort.

“We are expecting collections to total up to RM500,000 if the stadium is filled to capacity and the proceeds will be distributed among three organisations, and some for the lucky draw,” he said at a press conference in Johor Baru yesterday.

Also present were JDT technical director Alistair Edwards, JFA honorary secretary Captain Mohd Anizam and Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation chief executive officer Mohd Shahrin Rahmat.

Edwards said a coaching clinic, involving the legends and JDT Academy players aged 11-19, will also be held at the Seri Gelam field, besides a meet the fans session at the JDT Cafe on June 1.

“The event is a wonderful opportunity for fans and everyone at JDT to witness first hand some of the real superstars of the game.

“It’s a great opportunity for our academy players too as these football greats will be passing on some guidance and tips during the coaching clinic,” he added.
