KL back to being 'Super'

Kuala Lumpur won promotion back to the Super League, joining Penang in the top flight next season after a 5-4 win over Selangor II in Friday's Premier League match in Cheras.

Fakhrul Aiman Sidid (33rd minute), Nicolas Dul (34th), Francis Kone (41st), Indra Putra Mahayuddi (71st) and Izreen Izwandy (79th) scored for KL while Selangor replied through Syazwan Salihin (fourth), Bajram Nebihi (62nd and 68th) and Danial Asri (66th).

Nidzam Adzha Yusoff's side are second in the standings with 20 points, three points behind leaders Penang, who defeated UKM FC 2-1 in Selayang yesterday.

Although KL have achieved their return to the Super League, they are not celebrating just yet.

The City Boys are focused on winning their remaining two matches against Perak II (on Friday) and Kuching FA (Oct 9) in the hope of winning the Premier League.

"We want maximum points from our remaining matches. Although we have achieved our target, I hope my team can go one better by winning the league," said Nidzam on Friday.--Bernama
