Super League: JDT extend lead, Shukor's 'Hand of God' earns KL a point

KUALA LUMPUR: Defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) extended their lead at the top of the Super League table by beating Penang 3-0 at the City Stadium on Saturday.

JDT have now opened a six-point lead over second-placed Terengganu, who have 24 points.

The Turtles play Selangor at the MBPJ Stadium tonight.

JDT took the lead through Safawi Rasid after 15 minutes with Bergson da Silva adding the second in the 43rd minute for his 11th goal of the season.

Mohamadou Sumareh completed JDT's impressive win with a goal in the 51st minute.

In Shah Alam, UiTM FC held KL City to a 1-1 draw at the UiTM Stadium.

UiTM's new signing Kwon Yong Hyun made a memorable debut with a goal in the 84th minute

UiTM's hopes for a first win of the season were dashed when Shukor Adan scored the equaliser for KL City in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

TV replays showed that the 42-year-old had rose high to meet a free-kick before striking the ball with his hand for KL's equaliser.

The match officials, however, failed to spot it and awarded the goal.

The match between Sabah and Kedah at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu was delayed for almost two hours due to heavy rain.

When play resumed, Kedah dominated and scored a goal through Kpah Sherman in the 79th minute for a 1-0 win.
