Covid blow for Young Tigers

KUALA LUMPUR: Three national youth players tested positive for Covid-19 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, today.

The Young Tigers are in Cambodia for the AFF Under-23 Championship.

The three are Abdul Hanafie Tokyo, Zainal Abidin Jamil and T. Saravanan, who all took the test in their hotel rooms today.

Assistant coach Khan Hung Meng also tested positive for Covid.

The three players and Hung Meng will now be quarantined for seven days.

Fahmi Daniel Zaaim and Shafi Azswad Sapari, who were Covid-19 positive earlier, are expected to be released from quarantine tomorrow.

Brad Maloney's side will play Laos on Monday in their second Group B match. Malaysia were edged 2-1 by the minnows on Friday.
