Da Silva's double helps JDT to FA Cup final win

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) won the FA Cup title after overcoming Terengganu 3-1 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil today.

Terengganu must thank their goalkeeper Rahadiazli Rahalim for keeping the score down by denying JDT on several occasions.

In front of 85,000 fans, JDT took the lead through Arip Aiman Hanapi in the 35th minute. The winger outwitted a Terengganu defender before beating

Rahadiazli with a powerful drive after receiving a pass from Bergson da Silva.

Hector Bidoglio's side extended the lead when Da Silva scored from the penalty spot in the 60th minute.

Terengganu, however, reduced the deficit in the 75th minute through captain Kipre Tchetche.

JDT regained their two-goal lead three minutes through Da Silva.

It was JDT's second FA Cup title after their 2016 success and also their 20th overall crown.
