JDT blast City Boys 3-0

KUALA LUMPUR: Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) are yet to fire on all cylinders, but still packed enough firepower to hit Kuala Lumpur City 3-0 for their second straight Super League win.

KL City's Romel Morales turned villain for the hosts when he scored an own goal in the 40th minute at the KLFA Stadium.

The Southern Tigers' newly naturalised midfielder Endrick Dos Santos doubled their lead with a low header in the 51st minute.

The City Boys tried to fight back but they could not gain much of a foothold on a match dominated by JDT.

KL City coach Bojan Hodak brought in Zhafri Yahya, Herlison Caion, Muhammad Haqimi Azmi Rosli and Anwar Ibrahim in the 67th minute, which improved the team a bit, but not enough to turn the tide.

And JDT custodian Ahmad Syihan Hazmi Mohamed produced spectacular saves to thwart KL City's efforts in getting back into the game.

Winger Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi, who looked dangerous throughout the match, bagged the Southern Tigers' third goal deep into added time.
