JDT thrash KL City to remain undefeated

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) recorded their 15th Super League win by thrashing KL City 6-1 at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri on Monday.

Diogo Santo was the toast of JDT with a hat-trick in the 12th, 35th and 44th minutes.

Arif Aiman Hanapi (13th), Safiq Rahim (86th) and Akhyar Rashid (88th) completed the rout.

KL replied through Matko Zirdum in the 55th minute.

Bojan Hodak's side were without five regulars.

Both teams will face off again in the FA Cup final on July 22.

Undefeated JDT have 45 points and are at the top of the standings.

At the MBPJ Stadium, Selangor edged Kuching City 2-1.

Ayron Del Valle (26th) and Yohandry Orozco (55th) scored for the Red Giants, while Amir Amri Salleh replied for Kuching City in the 89th minute.

Selangor are second in the league with 34 points.

Kedah, meanwhile, lost 1-0 to Terengganu at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Gong Badak.

Engku Muhammad Nur Shakir Engku Yacob scored for the Turtles in the 16th minute.
