Selangor get Faisal boost

KUALA LUMPUR: Faisal Halim is set to return from suspension to reinforce Selangor's forward line when the Red Giants travel to Kota Baru to face wounded Kelantan in a Super League match on Friday.

Faisal served out his one-month suspension on Friday and is preparing for the crucial game.

"Faisal will be back tomorrow. He is training with the squad (ahead of the game)," said Selangor coach Tan Cheng Hoe on Thursday.

Selangor hope to regain their winning ways against Kelantan following a 2-1 loss to Police in a Malaysia Cup last-16 match on Aug 19.

"We were frustrated after the defeat to Police. However, we have recovered and are preparing for the game against Kelantan."

Selangor must win on Saturday to consolidate their second spot against Kelantan, who are 13th with only eight points.

Kelantan, however, could pose a problem as they will be out to bounce back from their embarrassing 10-0 thrashing by Johor Darul Ta'zim in the Malaysia Cup.

The Red Warriors are going through a transition with 80 per cent changes to their setup, using many Under-23 players.

"We have to avoid another yo-yo performance when we face Kelantan. They have a young team and will grow in confidence.

"We must concentrate and not underestimate the Red Warriors," Cheng Hoe added.

Richmond Ankrah, Safuwan Baharudin, Zikri Khalili and Yazan Al-Arab are doubtful for the match.
