JDT's league coronation delayed by late Kedah strike

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) Super League title party was delayed by a late late goal from Tajik Amirbek Juraboev.

The league leaders had to settle for a 3-3 draw at the Darulaman Stadium.

Kedah also became the first team this season to put an end to JDT's 20-game winning streak.

The Red Eagles had a flying start by grabbing a 1-0 lead through Ifedayo Omosuyi in the 36th minute. And Kedah increased their lead through captain Manuel Ott in the 50th minute.

But JDT halved their deficit through La'Vere Corbin-Ong two minutes later, and Heberty Fernandes equalised in the 56th minute.

The Southern Tigers led for the first time in the evening with a goal from Arif Aiman Hanapi in the 74th minute.

But JDT's league coronation had to be postponed after Kedah struck in the second minute of added time through Juraboev.

At Likas Stadium, Sabah took a step closer to a top five finish with a 3-1 win over Negri Sembilan.

The dominant Rhinos produced all their three goals in the first half through midseason signings Ramon Macedo (13th, 29th) and Angel Cifuentes (45th).

Negri got a consolation goal through Myanmar Hein Htet Aung in the 90th minute.

Meanwhile Terengganu stretched their unbeaten run to seven games with a 2-0 win over Kuching City in Sarawak. Shahrul Nizam Ros Hasni (42nd) and Nur Shakir Engku Yacob @ Engku Azman (55th) scored for the Turtles.
