Malayan Tigresses bitten by Lebanon

KUALA LUMPUR: Despite their semi-final exit, Malayan Tigresses coach Soleen Al-Zoubi stayed positive.

Malaysia lost 4-3 on penalties to Lebanon (after the match ended 0-0 in regulation time) at the Women's International Friendly Championship in Taif, Saudi Arabia yesterday.

"We're disappointed of course. Luck wasn't on our side." said Soleen.

"But I'm proud of the players who played with heart against a strong opponent. This is a newly gathered team who did well.

"The results will come, this is the right way to build a team."

The Malaysian women will meet Saudi Arabia in a third placing match on Saturday while Lebanon will play Bhutan in the final. Bhutan defeated Saudi Arabia 1-0.
