Malaysian expectations on Brazil-born Josue

KUALA LUMPUR: Paulo Josue is Brazilian by birth and Malaysia's hope by expectation.

And his newly adopted nation will be looking to the man from Rio Grande do Sul, to power their pre-World Cup campaign.

Fans do think highly of Josue, 34, as he had already scored four goals in six appearances for Harimau Malaya since gaining his Malaysian citizenship earlier this year.

Though the naturalised Josue said he cannot guarantee goals for Malaysia, the hard working forward has already proven himself to be an asset in the team.

And the KL City stalwart is set to lead the attack in Malaysia's World Cup qualifier against world No. 97 Kyrgyzstan on Nov 16 at Bukit Jalil.

Josue said he will try to play to coach Kim Pan Gon's instructions.

"I cannot guarantee goals, but I'm ready to play for Malaysia despite some issues towards the end of the season which I do not want to say here," said Josue.
