Akmal Rizal's midas touch, Omosuyi's haul completes match day 24

PENANG pulled off a sensational comeback - their first win since July - to claim a 3-2 victory over Sri Pahang at the City Stadium on Sunday.

Could it be due to Akmal Rizal Ahmad Rakhli's touch in his debut as the Panthers' head coach?

But the three points didn't come easy as the visitors took the lead after 21 minutes when Rafael Da Silva scored.

Irish-Nigerian centre forward Abdeen Temitope equalised in the 27th minute to put them on a level playing field well into the halftime break.

The Elephants continued hunting for a leader and Syazwan Andik Ishak found it in the 62nd minute to put Sri Pahang up 2-1.

But, Abdeen struck again in the 65th minute with an equaliser before teammate Izzat Zikri Iziruddin scored in the 71st minute to give the home crowd something to cheer about.

Over in KOTA BARU, Kedah was hot on Selangor's trail with three points from a 5-1 win over a problematic Kelantan.

Playing at a near-empty Sultan Muhd IV Stadium, the Red Eagles enjoyed a four-goal haul from Ifedayo Omosuyi.

The Nigerian sensation put the Red Eagles in the lead after just six minutes into the match, converting a penalty after Alif Ezzahan Zulkifli was marked for a handball.

The visitor's next three goals came in five minutes after Omosuyi opened the floodgates with another penalty conversion in the 26th minute.

Wan Amirul Afiq Wan Rahman followed Omosuyi's footsteps to score Kedah's third goal in the 29th minute.

Just a minute later, Omosuyi, with a hat trick, put Nafuzi Zain's side in a comfortable 4-0 lead during halftime.

The home team, finally, responded in the 73rd when Haziman Che Ngah provided the Red Warriors with a consolation goal.

But, Omosuyi wasn't done yet as he added his fourth goal of the night in the 80th minute before Ariff Farhan Isa (87) closed Kedah's scoring account at 6-1.

Kelantan has rewritten their own record with 108 conceded in 24 games and have two more matches to go before the season ends.

Meanwhile, KL City won 3-0 against Kelantan United at the KLFA Stadium for their first win since August.

Matko Zirdum set the tone early by scoring the opening goal in the 21st minute.

The City Boys had to wait until the first half before they saw two additional goals from captain Paulo Josue (68) and Tchetche Kipre (78) to gain three points.
