JDT ready to battle Kawasaki and cold weather in ACL

JOHOR BAHRU: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) must play aggressively to match Japan's Kawasaki Frontale in tomorrow's Asian Champions League (ACL) Group I match at Todoroki Stadium.

JDT coach Esteban Solari will concoct the best strategy for his players to perform well and adapt to the cold weather, with temperatures expected to hover around 17 degrees Celsius

However, Solari quickly dismissed that the weather could affect JDT's rhythm.

The Argentine stressed that his players are prepared to face the cold weather when they take the field.

Kawasaki have virtually sealed their last-16 spot with 12 points and sit at the top of the group.

South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai and JDT each have six points, with the Korean champions currently occupying the second position on goal difference.

"The weather conditions won't change much tomorrow. We flew early to Japan to train for the game. Our training sessions went smoothly, with the players looking comfortable," said Solari.

"I don't want to use the cold weather as an excuse. We are here to fight for three points.

"Tomorrow, our defence must be strong to close spaces. We believe we can perform better than in our previous ACL matches."
