Southern Tigers hunt quadruple again

KUALA LUMPUR: The last time Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) swept four titles in a single season, it was in 2022.

And the Southern Tigers are now set to repeat their quadruple of winning the Charity Cup, FA Cup, Super League and Malaysia Cup.

JDT, who have already captured three titles, are the heavy favourites against Terengganu in Friday's Malaysia Cup final at the National Stadium.

Amid all that quadruple talk, JDT coach Esteban Solari is stay grounded, and he said that the final against Terengganu, coached by Tomislav Steinbruckner, will be a tough high intensity match for his men.

He said the Malaysia Cup final is different from the Super League because anything can happen in just 90 minutes.

Solari said the JDT players have gotten over their recent 5-0 loss to Kawasaki Frontale in the Asian Champions League in Japan.

In the last two league meetings between JDT and Terengganu, the Southerners beat the East Coast side 2-0 (home) and 3-1 (away).
