JDT eye 2025 Club World Cup ticket

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) are ranked No. 11 in Asia and have an outside chance to qualify for the 2025 Club World Cup.

The Southern Tigers have earned 38 points, with Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal at the top of the Asian standings with 97 points, followed by South Korea's Jeonbuk Motors (72 points) and Ulsan Hyundai (62 points).

Only four Asian clubs will earn automatic slots to the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States.

Three spots are reserved for 2021 Asian Champions League (ACL) champions Al Hilal, 2022 winners Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan) and another from the 2023-2024 season.

The highest ranked Asian team will also earn a spot.

In statement on social media, JDT said: "Fifa has ranked JDT at no. 11 in Asia for the 2025 Club World Cup Asian qualification.

"The rankings are based on performances in the ACL from the 2021 season."

The 2025 Club World Cup, scheduled for June 15-July 13, will see 32 teams battling for the top prize.
