Kelantan kicked out of 2024-2025 M-League

KUALA LUMPUR: Kelantan have been booted out of the 2024-2025 M-League.

The Malaysian Football League's appeals committee has rejected the appeal of the former M-League treble winners.

The committee's chairman Mohamad Yasin Abdullah said they had a meeting on Tuesday and rejected Kelantan's appeal.

The cash-strapped Red Warriors finished bottom of the 14-team Super League last season, conceding a whopping 121 goals from 26 matches and collected only eight points from 26 matches with two wins, two draws and 22 defeats.

Businessman Norizam Tukiman bought the club from Kelantan FA in 2020 during the M-League privatisation, when the east coast side was neck-deep in debt and languishing in the second-tier Premier League.

Under Norizam's ownership, the east coast side finished runners-up in the 2022 Premier League to gain promotion to the Super League.

However, things went downhill last season with poor performance as the club was reported to be plagued with claims of unpaid wages and coaching instability with the team getting their third coach, Angel Alfredo Vera, after Choi Moon Sik and Frank Bernhardt were sacked.
