Beckham never really retired

KUALA LUMPUR: England football legend David Beckham believes that people remember him for his strong work ethics - on and off the field.

Becks reckons he has never really retired, and he is still working till today, and that has led to him being in Kuala Lumpur.

Beckham, 49, is in town for the adidas Predator Series World Exhibition at The Exchange TRX mall today.

"It's nice to be here in Kuala Lumpur again after a few years. This is my first time here as an adidas ambassador," said the Manchester United great in an interview with Stadium Astro.

Beckham said he feels he is remembered for his strong work ethics.

"I have retired, but I still work very hard. My work ethic is what I think people remember me for.

"And I take that into my business life. Retirement lasted only a few hours for me because I jumped straight back into the football business."

Beckham added that he finds the most joy in being a full time dad to his four children alongside his wife, former Spice Girl - Victoria.

Beckham is the president and co-owner of Inter Miami and co-owner of Salford City.

During his pro days, he was famous for his range of passing, crossing abilities and bending free kicks that has earned his own trademark and movie title - Bend it Like Beckham.

He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries - England, Spain, the United States and France.

Beckham earned a treble with the Red Devils in 1995-96. He is also the first England player to score in three World Cups.
