Malaysia will again be represented by two clubs in Asian football

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian will maintain its "two teams" presence in Asian club competitions for the 2025-2026 football season after recording 6,000 points for 2023-2024.

This means a M-League team will each get to compete in the 2025-2026 Asian Champions League Elite (ACLE) and ACL 2.

In the 2023-2024 Asian Champions League, Johor Darul Ta'zim finished third in Group I.

In the second-tier AFC Cup, Terengganu finished second in Group G while Sabah emerged as Group H winners.

Malaysia gained the most ranking points in 2022 after JDT, KL City and Kedah reached the knockout stages in Asian competitions.

With KL emerging as AFC Cup finalists, it hoisted Malaysia's ranking to 9,677 points, the highest since 2015.
