Perlis United set for Super League?

KUALA LUMPUR: Perlis United have secured a conditional license for the upcoming Super League, which starts in May.

According to a source, Perlis United successfully beat Immigration FC, KL Rovers and Harini to obtain the sole license.

If this is true, Perlis, also known as the Northern Lions, will complete the 14-team cast in the Super League, replacing Kelantan, which failed to obtain a license.

"Perlis have been promoted to the Super League but under specific conditions outlined in the conditional license.

"Nonetheless, this is excellent news for Perlis fans eagerly anticipating their team's return to top-tier football.

"An official statement regarding this matter will be released by the Malaysian Football League (MFL)," said the source.

Perlis were excluded from the M-League in 2019 due to unresolved financial issues, despite receiving repeated warnings.

Meanwhile, Perlis United president Shukri Othman said they have heard about the matter through social media.

However, he declined to comment further.
