More unpaid wages issues surface ahead of Hari Raya

KUALA LUMPUR: The M-League season for 2024-2025 has yet to begin, but issues concerning unpaid player wages have already kicked off.

The club involved is said to be from the East Coast. They began preseason training in February.

A source revealed that players from the team have yet to receive their first salary payments for the season.

This is sure to put them in a difficult position with Hari Raya celebrations just a few days away.

"We are only in preseason training, but are already facing such issues. Hopefully, this can be resolved before Hari Raya," said the source.

Incidents of unpaid wages in the M-League is nothing new. Teams such as Melaka United, Sarawak United and Kelantan have been relegated from the Super League due to such issues in the past.

Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA) are currently facing the same issues. They have until April 20 to settle outstanding payments or show proof they are capable of settling the payments.

If they fail to do so, KDA FC could lose their national licence, which means the club will not be eligible to compete in the Super League for 2024-2025.
