SERI KEMBANGAN: National golfer Nur Durriyah Damian finished out of the medals after a misfiring performance in the final round of the women's individual event at the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games (KL2017) today.
Durriyah carded one-over 72 at the Mines Resort and Golf Club in Seri Kembangan to finish fourth overall on an even-par 213. Fellow national players Ashley Lau (214) and Loy Hee Ying (215) came in fifth and sixth respectively.
Tha teenager Atthaya Thitikul emerged victorious on 14-under 199 with teammate Thitapa Pakdeesettakul (206) taking the silver. Go Lois Kaye Lo of the Philippines completed the podium on 4-under 209.
Durriyah said she is hoping to bounce back in the women's team event.
"I am quite disappointed as I made a lot of mistakes today. I hope to do better in the team event which starts tomorrow," said Durriyah.
Meanwhile, national golfer Ervin Chang finished 11th in the men's competition after firing two-under 69 today.
Thailand's Kosuka Hamamoto took the gold on 10-under 213 with Singapore's Marc Ong and Thailand's Kammalas Namuangruk coming in second and third.
