120 players tee off in the 2024 Tun Ahmad Sarji Pro-Am Charity Golf

SUBANG: The Tun Ahmad Sarji Pro-Am Charity Golf event saw an impressive turnout of 90 amateur golfers and 30 professional golfers at the Saujana Golf & Country Club, Subang, recently.

MST Golf, Dunlop Srixon and 18 corporate companies sponsored the Pro-Am flights for the teams, as well as novelty and lucky draw prizes.

A team from the media, led by professional golfer Nazri Zain, emerged as the champions with a score of 134. The team members were Mahathir Mohamad Sidi (from Media Prima Berhad), Imran Mohd Nor (from Utusan Malaysia), and Aziz Hassan. The amateur members received TaylorMade Spider putters as prizes, while Nazri took home RM1,000.

Securing the second place was Yaztech Sdn Bhd, led by professional golfer Rizal Amin, with a score of 138. Amateur members Datuk Mohd Afrizan, Feisal Ali, and Encik Mohd earned TaylorMade cart bags, while Rizal received RM750.

In third place was team Saujana led by professional golfer Ryan Fernandez with a score of 139. The team comprised Nicholas Wong, I J Lau and Fauzi. The amateurs won TaylorMade Pro bags while Ryan Fernandez walked away with RM500.

All prizes were presented by Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) director Yip Jian Lee.

The Pro-Am Charity Golf was held in honour of PGM's late founding chairman Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid, who died in 2021. Funds raised in the event were donated to Pusat Pengajian Al-Quran, after deducting expenses.

Representing the family, Ariff Tuah Ahmad Sarji presented a mock cheque of RM20,000 to Pusat Pengajian Al-Quran chairman Datuk Sulaiman Osman.
