Speedy Tigresses thump Singapore for second Asian Games win

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian women's hockey team smashed Singapore 8-1 in an Asian Games Group A match in Hangzhou on Sunday.

It was the Speedy Tigresses' second win after the 8-0 rout of Hong Kong in their opening match.

The team have six points after three matches and play South Korea on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Malaysia scored through Wan Norfaiezah Saiuti (ninth minute), Siti Nur Arfah Nor (15th), Nuraini Rashid (29th), Nurmaizatul Hanim (31st), Nur Afiqah Syahzani Azhar (37th), Khairunnisa Ayuni (48th) and Hanis Nadiah Onn (54th and 59th).

Sardonna Ng replied for Singapore in the 34th minute.
