KUALA LUMPUR: Who are the three coaches that will assist newly appointed national men's hockey team head coach Sarjit Singh?
Two of them are expected to be Azrul Effendy Bistamam of Maybank and S. Kumar of Tenaga Nasional.
Azrul has been the Maybank coach for the last six years, and he was also the assistant to former national coach A. Arul Selvaraj for the last two years.
Kumar was a renowned keeper who played for the country in 321 matches for 20 years, and he has been the national goalkeepers coach since he retired in 2020.
But the mystery is who is the third person to assist Sarjit?
He is said to be a local, but it is learnt that he did not coach any of the teams in the Malaysian Hockey League which ended on Saturday.
The Malaysian Hockey Confederation will name the three assistant coaches and the list of 45 players for national training tomorrow.
