No more rest for Hafizh and Adam

KUALA LUMPUR: The time for rest and relaxation for Malaysia’s Moto3 rider, Adam Norrodin is over and the Petronas SIC Racing rider begins the new year with intensive training for two months in Valencia, Spain.

All sorts of activities off the track have been prepared for Adam starting tomorrow (Friday) which involves ice skating, physical training in the gym, cycling, swimming which are all part of preparations to face the new season which is scheduled to begin on March 18 in Qatar.

In Valencia, Adam who will be joined by compatriot Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah who will feature in Moto2, on January 17 (Wednesday), will be under personal trainer Aleix Santacreu.

Meanwhile Hafizh, who just got married recently on December 14, said that he is excited to begin training in Valencia.

“The first phase of training will help me especially in terms of physical preparations,” said Hafizh.

“I can feel that I am more confident and better prepared especially when we start getting ready for the coming season earlier.

“To ensure I am in the best shape and position for honours, I will be working harder and doubling my efforts especially in training compared to previous years.”

Last season, Adam teamed up with Japanese rider Ayumu Sasaki, and he finished 17th overall with 42 points while Hafizh earned 106 points to take 10th place in Moto2.

For the new season, Adam is eyeing a top ten finish overall while Hafizh has been given a huge task of finishing in the top five to better his chances of stepping up to the main class, MotoGP.
