KUALA LUMPUR: Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah is not in Red Bull KTM Tech3's plans for the 2020 MotoGP season.
On Wednesday, Red Bull KTM Tech3 announced that Brad Binder will make his MotoGP debut next season with the team, joining Miguel Oliveira.
The former Moto3 world champion currently competes for the KTM Moto2 team, which sees Hafizh dropped from the team after two seasons in MotoGP.
The Malaysian is most likely to return to Moto2 – potentially with Tech3 or Petronas – having competed with the Malaysian team in the intermediate class between 2011 and 2017.
“It is incredible to have this opportunity. I want to thank KTM, Red Bull KTM Tech3, my manager and my family for helping me get to the premier class and to be able to give it a try," said Binder in a statement.
